![]() ![]() And, by the way, I enjoy YA series with superheroes like Ex-Heroes, but those were well-written, clearly establishing the world that these well-defined characters lived in. To be fair, I admit to stopping listening a bit more than halfway through so maybe it really picked up later, but I just couldn't wait. And the author goes to great lengths to describe the workings and mechanisms of the devices that I found to be so dull because it was like, who cares if the altenator circuit thing doesn't have the proper wires? That's not the reality that is needed. ![]() We got characters telling about the super heroes and villains without actually being in the story. Almost everything was just told instead of shown. I needed more reality, more descriptions of the world they live in. But I found it totally lacking in fully realized characters that I had to put in my own preconceived attributes of teenagers and comic book superheroes. I seem to be alone in my assessment of this book. ![]()
